More Sexual Assault Allegations at Eastern Connecticut Stables
A man is accused of assaulting a girl at eastern Connecticut Stables and in his car around the state.

KILLINGLY, CT — A man has been slapped with a second set of charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl who was working at popular eastern Connecticut riding stables in exchange for free board for a horse.
Michael Sobieniak, 43, was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of illegal sexual contact with a victim younger than 16 and two counts of second-degree sexual assault, state police said. He posted a $75,000 bond and is to appear in court on Tuesday, according to an arrest report.
Sexual intercourse took place between him and a girl when she was 14 to 15 years old at the Valley View Riding Staples in Killingly and in his vehicle at various locations around the state during deliveries, according to an arrest report. The girl was working at the stables in exchange for free board, an arrest report indicates.

He was first arrested in June 2016 and a new investigation was begun on Sept. 17 of this year, state police said.
The 2016 charges include three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, three counts of illegal sexual contact and a single count of risk of injury to a child, court records show. He scheduled to appear in court Tuesday on those charges, for which he is free on a $35,000 bond, court records show.
