Obituary: Lonny James Warner

Lonny loved to ride his Harley Davidson with his wife, Joanna, and befriended many bike enthusiasts all over the country who have remained his close friends.

Lonny James Warner, 54, of Stafford Springs, passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, February 6, 2012, with his family at his side. Lonny went to join his beloved longtime canine friends, Bear and Orlando.

He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on July 29, 1957. A veteran, Lonny proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper and medic in the 82nd Airborne Division of the 1st 504 alongside his longtime friend, Mark Messina and many good men. He enjoyed a long career with Home Depot using his many talents as a field inspector. Lonny loved to ride his Harley Davidson with his wife, Joanna, and befriended many bike enthusiasts all over the country who have remained his close friends. Lonny loved music and attended many concerts. A gentle soul, he entertained everyone with his outstanding humor and quick wit.

Most of all, Lonny was a loving soul mate and best friend to his beloved wife of 27 years, Joanna (Farinella) Warner. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and his many good friends including his dad, Charles Warner of FL, his brothers, Lindy Warner and his wife, Tanya, of Hobe Sound, FL, Joseph Lopez, Jr. and his wife, Dottie, of Nashua, NH, Michael Lopez and his wife, Elizabeth, of Niagara Falls, NY, and David Warner and his wife, Brenda, of NC; his sisters, Cheryl Lopez, of Niagara Falls, NY, Karen LeMay and her husband, Lionel, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Marjorie Bates, and her husband, Kenneth, of Hobe Sound, FL, and Lynn Bartlett of Niagara Falls, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews. Lonny was predeceased by his mother, Eileen (Rauccio) Warner and his father, Joseph Lopez, Sr.

Lonny’s family extends heartfelt appreciation to the devoted and compassionate caregivers at St. Francis Cancer Center.

Friends may join Lonny’s family at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main Street, Somers on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a memorial and reflective service at 6:00 p.m. Services will conclude with full Military Honors being accorded for Lonny for his faithful service to his country.

Memorial donations in Lonny’s memory may be made to the St. Francis Foundation Cancer Center, 95 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105.
