• UConn Phasing Out Blue Emergency Phones On Campuses (patch.com) — Students and residents around Mansfield's UConn Storrs campus will see the familiar blue emergency phones gradually disappear as the university retires most of the nearly 30-year-old system. Citing near-universal cellphone access and better service, UConn will cover and remove many kiosks while keeping some phones in spots with weaker reception, as officials reassess how best to support campus safety.
