Pickup Truck Driver Given Warning in Mansfield Bike Incident
The driver in a Sept. 4 truck versus bicycle accident in Downtown Storrs was given a verbal warning, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — The driver in a Sept. 4 truck versus bicycle accident in Downtown Storrs was given a verbal warning for a violation termed "unsafe movement of a stopped motor vehicle," according to a report released over the weekend.
The driver was a 42-year-old man from the Amston section of Hebron, state police said.
On Sept. 4 at about 6:30 p.m., state police were dispatched to E.O. Smith High School after a pickup truck struck a bicyclist while exiting the parking lot of the school, according to a report.

The bike was on the sidewalk being ridden by a 20-year-old male from New Jersey, according to a report.
The driver then fled in the vehicle, state police said.

No serious injuries were reported.
State police released a photograph of the suspect vehicle, which turned out to be a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, according to a report.
