Police Pursuit In Mansfield Leads To Charges Against Local Man
A man "recognized" by troopers led to a chase in Mansfield, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — A Mansfield man is facing several charges after a police chase over the weekend, an arrest report shows.
At 7:08 p.m. Sunday, state troopers noticed a black 2000 Chevrolet pick-up truck being driven erratically and at a high rate of speed on Route 32, according to an arrest report. Troopers "recognized" the driver as 29-year-old Mansfield resident Wesley Palmiero, according to an arrest report.
Trooper pursued Palmiero at a high rate of speed onto Mansfield City Road and activated their lights, and Palmiero accelerated in an attempt to flee troopers, according to an arrest report.

Palmiero was eventually tracked down on Prospect Street in Willimantic asleep on his vehicle, according to an arrest report.
Palmiero was charged with engaging police in a pursuit and driving while under suspension, along with insurance, plate and lane violations.

He was released on a $10,000 bond and is due on court on June 20, state police said.
