Rain Gardens and Rain Harvesting in Mansfield
A free workshop for residents is being offered this weekend.
The Town of Mansfield is offering a series of free public workshops focused on landscaping techniques that reduce storm water pressure, pesticide, herbicide and synthetic fertilizer use and support a healthy environment around their homes.
This Saturday’s workshop will explore ways to capture and use the water resources on their land instead of sending it into storm drains. Participants will learn about the benefits of rain barrels and how to create a landscaped rain garden from Jean Pillo, coordinator for the Thames River Basin Partnership.
The Rain Gardens/Rain Harvesting program will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, in the Town Hall Council Chamber.
