School Bus, Jeep, Collide In Mansfield

A school bus and a jeep were involved in a collision in Mansfield, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — About 20 students traveling to Southeast School on Thursday morning escaped injury when a school bus collided with a Jeep Wrangler, state police said.

The crash took place at 8:37 a.m.

The bus was heading north on Route 195 between South Frontage and North Frontage roads in a left-hand lane when the Jeep, driven by a 24-year-old Coventry woman in a right-hand lane, drifted left and hit the bus, state police said.

Most of the students did not even realize the bus was hit, state police indicated in a report.
