The exhibit will be held at the Jillson House, home of the Historical Society, which is a stone dwelling built in 1925 that is also located on Jillson Square (561 Main Street) in Willimantic. It is at the other end of the lawn from the stage itself. Those who are attending the concerts are invited to stop in and take in the exhibit before the shows.

The exhibit features over 80 pictures and mementos from Shaboo, its owner David Foster and the Shaboo All Stars. These include pictures of performers such as Keith Richards, Muddy Waters, NRBQ, Chuck Berry, and Ray Charles who either played at the Club or with the All-Stars. Other displays include items that adorned the walls, play lists of the bands that appeared at the club, and other souvenirs. A special exhibit will feature the history of the mill that was where Shaboo called home.

Windham Historical Board President Bob Horrocks stated that one of the original owners, David Foster from Shaboo Productions must be thanked for loaning all his pictures and sharing his memories. “Looking at everything that has been amassed just brings you back in time to a different musical era. We like to say that our community is a place where the arts are caressed by history. This period was truly an important time where people came from all over the Northeast to listen to some of the most influential groups in the music industry, and those that would eventually reach that status.”

Shaboo was located in an old mill building behind what is now the Eastbrook Mall. David Foster was only 19 when he and his partners founded Shaboo

The exhibit will be available to the public at a special opening reception on Wednesday, August 1st from 6-8pm. It will also be open to the public the day of the concert on Friday, August 3rd from 3:00 – 7:30. On Saturday the Jillson House will be open from 1 – 3 pm. Those who are attending the concert should remember that they should visit the exhibit before the concert begins as they will not be able to leave and return once the concert begins.

There will also be a place for those who attended the original Shaboo Inn to leave their memories about when they visited the music venue. There is no charge. The exhibit will also be open on Saturdays throughout August. For times look for signs in front of the building or go to their website at https://www.windhamhistory.org.
