Simsbury Man Accused Of Making Threats Against UConn Athletics Staff: Warrant
A University of Connecticut sports fanatic was a bit too fanatical in a series of emails, according to a warrant.

STORRS, CT β A warrant details threatening messages sent to University of Connecticut officials from a disgruntled Husky sports fanatic who is now facing 11 criminal charges.
Bruce Meade, 63, of Simsbury, appeared in Rockville Superior court this week. He has been charged with four counts each of second-degree harassment and second-degree breach of peace charges, along with, three counts of second-degree threatening. He is due back in court on June 6, according to judicial system records.
According to a warrant, Meade sent "alarming" messages via the UConn president's email portal on Oct. 18, Jan. 17, Jan. 19 and on Valentine's Day. They were sent with fake names and some were sent from public computers at libraries in Avon and West Hartford, according to a warrant.

In one message, Meade said he was "fed up" with the athletic program after being denied entrance to the First Night basketball game for which he did not acquire advance tickets. In another message, he expressed displeasure over the cost of tickets, the cost of renovations to facilities and the capacity of Gampel Pavilion.
In one message directed at staff members, he said "with the snap of a finger, I can make people disappear," according to a warrant.

Another message was a direct death threat, according to a warrant.
