Update: Snow Foolin' ... Trash Collections Start, Then Called Off In Mansfield

MANSFIELD, CT — The show went on for a while with trash pickups on Thursday in Mansfield, despite the snowfall. Then, the snowfall became too intense, town officials said.

Town officials initially said that trash collections would "continue for as long as possible," but at about noontime that was changed to impossible and trucks were called off the roads.

Remaining Thursday customers will have their trash picked up on Friday and Friday customers will have their trash picked up on Saturday, town officials said.

Alternatively, Thursday customers may choose to place this week’s trash with next week’s pickup, town officials said.

• Windham Tech
• Mansfield Academy of Dance
• Mansfield Community Center — closing at 10 a.m.
• Mansfield Family Practice
• Mansfield Parks & Recreation — closing at 10 a.m.
• Mansfield Senior Center
• Savings Institute branches
• Windham Early Head Start
• Windham Eye Group
• Windham Senior Center
