State Police Corral Wild Mustang in Scotland, Then Find Drugs
The Scotland man jockeying the car is facing several charges.

SCOTLAND, CT - A Scotland man was arrested on drug and motor vehicle charges after a wild scene in Scotland on Thursday.
On Thursday at approximately 7:10 pm, members of the Quality of Life Task Force were assisting Troop D patrol troopers on Brooklyn Turnpike in Scotland with a canine unit track at the scene of a burglary, according to a news release.
After the track was completed, two troopers from the QLTF encountered a red Mustang "doing a lengthy burnout" at the intersection of Brook Road and Brooklyn Turnpike. After the tires spun for some time, the red Mustang then took off at a high rate of speed on Brooklyn Turnpike, according to a news release.

The troopers turned the cruiser around and attempted to catch up to the Mustang in an effort to stop it, accordingto a news release.
The troopers spotted the Mustang as it illegally passed an sport utility vehicle SUV in a no passing zone and then pull into a driveway of a known drug house. The operator of the Mustang attempted to conceal the red Mustang behind the house near the wood line. Troopers pulled into the driveway, exited their cruiser and caught up to the driver before he could run into his house, according to a news release.

After a brief investigation, it was revealed that Jonathan Bourque was the driver of the Mustang, state police said.
Bourque was found to be in possession of both heroin and cocaine. Additionally, troopers discovered that the Mustang had no insurance, misused registration plates and Bourque had a suspended driver’s license, according to a news release.
Bourque was taken into custody and transported to Troop D where he was processed and released after posting a $10,000 bond pending his June 15 court date., state police said.
Bourque, 49, lives at 486 Brooklyn Turnpike, Scotland, according to state police records.
He was charged with:
- Possession of cocaine.
- Misuse of plates
- Operating with a suspended license
- Operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
- Operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
- Unsafe movement from a stopped position.
- Passing in a no passing zone.
