State Police Investigate ATV Thefts in Mansfield
Police say a number of the vehicles have been stolen in the area since the beginning of the month.

In the wake a series of thefts, Connecticut State Police have issued a warning to area residents who own ATV vehicles.
State Troopers from Troop C in Tolland, from Troop D inDanielson and the Stafford Resident State Troopers are investigating βan increased number of thefts involving ATV-type vehicles β dirt bikes and four-wheelers β which have occurred during the overnight hours during the month of April,β state police said in a statement issued Wednesday.
There have been at least nine thefts reported in Mansfield, Ashford, Stafford, Thompson and Killingly, including four in Ashford, according to police.

The thefts began in the beginning of April and have occurred at residential garages, sheds, and barns. In some cases, force has been used to gain entry.
The ATVs have been Honda dirt bikes, Honda four-wheelers, and Suzuki four-wheelers, all dates and models, the most recent ones have been red and yellow as the primary color.

Troopers remind residents to store valuables out of sight and in a locked area.
Troopers are asking that anyone with information about the dirt bike and four-wheelers/ATV thefts, or any suspicious behavior, to contact Trooper Tyler Weerden at Troop C at 860-896-3200, ext. 8045. All calls will be kept confidential.
