State Police Keep Busy With DUI Incidents In Mansfield

April 15

MANSFIELD, CT - David Krause, 38, of 1 Codfish Falls Road, Storrs, was charged with driving under the influence after police found his car teetering on a "slight" embankment on Chaffeeville Road, according to an arrest report. He was arrested at 5:22 a.m., state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT - Shirley Thurston, 60, of 621 US Highway 1, Hancock, Maine, was charged with DUI and a turn violation at 10:36 p.m. after she almost hit a police cruiser on Route 44, according to an arrest report. The trooper had to slam on his brakes to avoid being hit, according to an arrest report.

TOLLAND, CT - Timothy Anderson, 28, of 60 Apple Road, Tolland, was charged with sixth-degree larceny after being caught trying to conceal and steal $94 worth of items at the Fieldstone Commons Big Y supermarket, according to an arrest report. He apologized to police and store staffers, according to an arrest report.

APRIL 16

MANSFIELD, CT - Robert Faber, 23, of 412 Fairfield Ave., Waterbury, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and breach of peace after a disturbance on Dartmouth Road at 9:38 a.m., state police said.

WILLINGTON, CT - Jason Pennell, 27, of 10 Lloyd St., was charged with reckless driving and DUI after he sped by a police cruiser with its emergency lights on at 2:15 a.m. traveling eastbound on Interstate-84, according to an arrest report. When a trooper caught up to him, he was traveling between 115 and 120 mph, according to an arrest report.

MANSFIELD, CT - Marlon Bernard, 20, of 59 Nepaug St., Hartford, was charged with DUI at 10:14 p.m. on Stafford Road, according to a police report. He was found unresponsive behind the wheel of his car, parked in a driveway, according to an arrest report.

April 17

MANSFIELD, CT - Eugene Cybart, 22, of 20 Meadowlark Drive, Shelton, was charged with DUI and improper parking at 1:14 a.m. after his car was found halfway on a sidewalk and halfway in the southbound lanes of Hunting Lodge Road, according to an arrest report.

April 18

ELLINGTON, CT - Veronica Capodicasa, 27, of Ellington, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct at 12:42 a.m. after a disturbance, state police said. The victim suffered minor injuries in a scuffle, state police said.
