Storrs Woman Struck, Killed By Car In West Hartford: Police

WEST HARTFORD, CT — An elderly woman from Storrs was killed when she was struck by a car while crossing the street Sunday night in West Hartford, according to police. Emergency crews responded to the area of 165 Park Road at about 8 p.m. on the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian crossed Park Road just east of Oakwood Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle traveling east on Park Road. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at Saint Francis Hospital, according to Capt. Michael Perruccio. The victim was identified on Monday morning as June Krisch, 80, of Storrs.

Perruccio said the driver of the vehicle that collided with Krisch remained on the scene and has cooperated with police in the investigation.

The West Hartford Police Traffic Division is heading this investigation and was assisted on scene by West Hartford Detectives, West Hartford Fire, as well as members of the Metro Traffic Services, according to Perruccio.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
