Teens Charged In Coventry Break-In And Squatting Incident
Three teens were using a vacant home in Coventry after breaking into it, police said.

COVENTRY, CT β Coventry Police this week charged three juveniles as a result of an investigation into a residential burglary.
The incident took place on Nov. 1 at a property on Woodland Road, police said.
Police said the home had been vacant for a period of time and when homeowners returned, they found evidence of not only forced entry, but signs that someone had a considerable amount of time there.

After viewing footage from the home's surveillance system, investigators were able to identify those involved based on their appearance and the fact that they referred to each other by name on the footage. The three juveniles β ages 15, 16 and 17 β were all arrested and referred to the Superior Court for Juvenile Matters in Willimantic, police said.

- First-degree burglary
- First-degree criminal mischief
- Second-degree criminal trespass
- Sixth-degree larceny
The 17-year-old had an additional charge of possession of alcohol by a minor, police said.
