Tour de Mansfield Slated for Saturday

Cyclists of all ages can participate regardless of their cycling experience or expertise.

Jumpstart Mansfield’s by cycling in the Tour de Mansfield.

The Village to Village tour will be held on Saturday, July 16, at the .

Bring the family and enjoy the 5-mile Family Fun Ride around the campus, or test your competitive spirit by taking on the 20-mile “challenge ride” or 40-mile “expert ride,” through Mansfield’s historic villages.

Registration forms can be picked up at the Community Center or completed online, here.

Pre-registration fees, with a deadline of Friday, July 15, are $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents.

For those who choose not to register until the day of the event, an additional $5 will be added to the fees. 

Payments cover snack stops, safety coverage and a barbeque following the event.

Participants may sign in at the Center at 7 a.m. on Saturday, with the family-friendly route getting under way at 11 a.m.

The ride is being sponsored by the Town of Mansfield, Mansfield Downtown Partnership, Mansfield Community Center and a number of local businesses.

Here are some things to keep in mind for Saturday, courtesy of Mansfieldct.gov:

  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All riders must check in and check out.
  • All riders must wear helmets.
  • All riders must ride legally, safely and courteously.
  • Headphones must not be worn during cycling.
  • Bring your own water bottle – water refills will be available.

  • In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held on Saturday, July 23.
