UConn Concert-Goer Removed From Gampel Kicking And Screaming

He was throwing objects and kicking a door, police said.

STORRS, CT - Authorities at the University of Connecticut removed someone kicking and screaming from a concert at Gampel Pavilion last week.

The incident took place on Thursday at 9:24 p.m. Security staffers at the venue were escorting 22-year-old Shawn Muckenhirn out of the concert after he was allegedly throwing objects at the stage, according to an arrest report.

Muckenhirn lives at 87 Hunting Lodge Road in Storrs, according to an arrest report.

While Muckenhim being escorted to the exit, he pulled away from a security staff member who was holding his right arm and proceeded to kick the exit door, according to an arrest report.

Once outside, officers instructed Muckenhirn to leave the area, but as he got to the bottom of a staircase near the arena, he picked up "a paper object" and threw it in the direction of police and security staffers, according to an arrest report.

Muckenhirn was taken into custody and processed for second-degree breach of peace, UConn police said.
