UConn Police Chief to Retire
Robert Hudd is set to leave the University of Connecticut when his successor is named, according to The Hartford Courant.

A official confirmed Monday afternoon that UConn Police Chief Robert S. Hudd would be retiring.
In an e-mail to The Hartford Courant, Barry M. Feldman, UConn's vice president and chief operating officer, said that Hudd would remain at UConn until the university named his successor.
"Bob's experience, leadership and judgment have contributed significantly to the positive environment that we enjoy today at the university," Feldman said in the e-mail to The Courant.

Hudd’s decision comes amid recent criticism of his annual salary, which some have called excessive. The Courant reports that Hudd’s annual salary of $255,848 as of last August – is more than that of New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly – $212,000 as of two years ago.
In addition to his duties as UConn’s police chief, Hudd is also associate vice president for public and environmental safety for the university.
