UConn Police Investigate Armed Robbery

The university issued a campus-wide alert following the incident late Wednesday evening.

Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery on the Storrs campus late Wednesday evening. 

A man in his 30s, wearing “a hospital type mask” displayed a handgun, and demanded cash from an individual on the basement level in the Torrey Life Science Building, according to the university’s Alert Notification System, which is issued campus-wide. 

The victim gave him a small amount of money and the suspect left the area, according to the UConn Web site.

Authorities say the suspect is believed to be an approximately 30-year-old black male, 5 foot 10 inches tall and 140 lbs. with short black hair.

Authorities describe him as wearing light colored jeans and a long sleeve blue shirt at the time of the robbery.
