UConn Police: Teen Tried To Dislodge Stop Sign After Women's National Championship Game

The Vermont teen was charged with breach of peace.

STORRS, CT - A Vermont teen is due in Rockville Superior Court on April 13 to explain to a judge why he tried to pull out a stop sign after the University of Connecticut women's basketball team won the 2015-16 national championship, UConn police said.

On April 5, at 10:44 p.m., UConn police were directing traffic outside of Gampel Pavilion as "a very large crowd" was exiting the basketball arena after the national title game. Gampel hosted a viewing party.

Officers saw Caleb Kasupski, 19, of 80 Barnett St., South Burlington, VT, attempting to dislodge the stop sign on Calhoun Way near the Hillside Road intersection, according to a police report.
