UConn School of Engineering Targeted by Chinese Hackers

Malware was found on several servers in March, according to a report.

The University of Connecticut School of Engineering apparently was targeted in a cyber attack by hackers in China.

The University reported the discovery of malware in several servers used by those affiliated with the school this week β€” months after the cyber intrusion was first detected in March, according UConn Today.

UConn IT security personnel and outside specialists haven’t found direct evidence that any data was removed from the School of Engineering’s servers, according to the report. Despite that, the University is notifying about 200 research sponsors in government and private industry about a potential compromise of information.
