UConn's $95M Science and Engineering Building Officially Opens
UConn's new Engineering and Science Building officially opened Monday.

STORRS, CT – The University of Connecticut's new Engineering and Science Building officially opened Monday.
The state-of-the-art facility was built as part of the Next Generation Connecticut initiative.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, UConn President Susan Herbst, industry partners, faculty and
staff, legislators, and students all participated in the ceremonies.,

The five-story, $95 million building was completed this spring and houses programs in engineering
and life sciences, including the Institute for Systems Genomics.

UConn and its researchers have ongoing partnerships with many companies as part of the
"innovation taking place in the new building, which is a center for collaboration and
research across various disciplines," UConn officials said.
It also supports a UConn collaboration "to fuel Connecticut’s economy with new technologies, highly skilled graduates, marketable patents and licenses, and the creation of high-wage jobs in new and emerging companies," officials said.
