UConn's Move-In Weekend Starts Friday for Storrs Campus

Traffic will be more congested than normal as more than 12,000 students move onto campus.

More than 12,000 University of Connecticut students are expected to move into their Storrs residence halls this weekend, with freshmen starting on Friday.

In total, about 23,000 undergraduate students will start classes Monday at Storrs and the regional campuses, according to UConn Today.

The University has issued a reminder for drivers and pedestrians to exercise cautionβ€” drivers must always yield to pedestrians, and pedestrians should always use crosswalks where available.

Drivers also are being asked to use alternate routes on and around the campus during daylight hours on Friday and over the weekend to avoid delays from the heavier-than-usual traffic as students move in.

The Department of Residential Life at the Storrs campus has posted information on its website, including the move-in schedule for each residence hall and the Parking Services office is providing information on www.park.uconn.edu/ about parking options and passes, rules and regulations, as well as the policy for the proper use of motor bikes, mopeds, and scooters on campus.
