The "pure, radiant voice" (LA Times) of French countertenor
sensation Philippe Jaroussky was first heard at Jorgensen in a
breathtaking performance two seasons ago with Apollo's Fire. Singing
with "the tone of an angel and the virtuosity of the Devil" (La Terrasse),
Jaroussky now returns to Jorgensen with one of the world's premier
period instrument ensembles, the illustrious Venice Baroque Orchestra,
to explore the full dramatic range of arias written for the infamous
Farinelli, and the leading virtuoso castrato singers of the 18th
century.
