UPDATE: A 'Victory Lap' To Celebrate UConn's NCAA Championship

The lieutenant governor will meet the team at Bradley Airport Wednesday afternoon before the Women's Basketball Team returns to Storrs.

Update: 1 p.m.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman will greet the National Champion UConn Women’s Basketball team at Bradley International Airport as they arrive home from their win in Tampa, Wyman’s office announced Wednesday afternoon.

The team is scheduled to return to the TAC Air, Executive Terminal Building in Windsor Locks at 3:45 p.m.

The team will then head back to Storrs for a ‘Victory Lap’ parade about 5:15 p.m. that will proceed through Storrs, ending at the Gampel Pavilion on the UConn campus. [Details on the parade route can be found below.]

Join in celebrating the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team’s 2015 NCAA national championship at the ‘Victory Lap’ planned for Wednesday afternoon.

The team beat Notre Dame 63-53 on Tuesday night for its third straight NCAA championship and is expected to return to Storrs about 5:15 p.m. after flying back from Tampa, FL.

The ‘Victory Lap’ will begin at the Mansfield Town Square in downtown Storrs, then head onto Mansfield Road to Gilbert Road, then to Hillside Road before ending at the north entrance to the Gampel Pavilion.

The team will ride in an open-air double decker bus and will be accompanied by the UConn pep band and cheerleaders, according to The Hartford Courant.
