WEATHER UPDATE: Two Snowstorms To Hit Mansfield, Storrs
March is expected to come in like a lion with accumulating snow, ice and rain.

It hasnβt snowed in almost a week. Well, okay there were flurries yesterday but they didnβt really amount to much. And now Old Man Winter plans to make his grand return for the start of March.
Essentially, youβll want to write-off the first few days of March, because itβll be one winter storm after another.
It will remain cold today and Saturday to end February but also dry, and that changes beginning Sunday evening.

According to Connecticut meteorologists, they all agree that snow begins Sunday evening and becomes steadier late at night, ending Monday morning. The storm is expected to impact the Monday morning commute for both workers and students.
Before the snowstorm ends a few inches of snow is expected to accumulate.

And more snow is forecast for Tuesday night, which will turn to ice and then to rain on Wednesday, before ending as snow on Thursday morning.
Here are what the prominent Connecticut meteorologists are specifically saying concerning the next two most recent weather events.
WFSB 3 TV Meteorologist Scott Haney wrote steady snow develops late Sunday and it impacts the Monday morning commute. Haney is specifically predicting 2-5 inches of snow.
NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Bob Maxon wrote several inches of snow will accumulate and predicts this could impact school openings on Monday.
WTNH News 8βs Gil Simmons wrote the only good news is when snow ends Monday the temps could hit 40 degrees. Time to break out the beach gear!
Simmons cautions that Tuesday through Thursdayβs long storm will include snow, ice and then plain rain and a possible return to snow.
The good news, itβs only 21 days until the start of spring.
