'What Obamacare Means for Small Businesses'

It's the burning question on small business owners' minds: how will the Affordable Care Act impact them?

The Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) will tackle the topic during an event on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The event, open to CBIA members, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hartford Marriott in Farmington.

Billed as practical information for CBIA members with fewer than 50 employees, CBIA says its "business and insurance industry experts will move beyond high-level concepts and provide practical information you can use immediately to navigate any regulatory changes and human resources obligations heading your way."

According to an event description posted on CBIA's website, topics to be covered include:

• New benefit plans, rating rules, and what that means to you
• Purchasing choices: private-sector vs. public exchange
• Subsidies, tax credits, and penalties
• Your responsibilities to your employees and the government
• Extensive Q&A. Bring your questions.
