What's Open, What's Closed in Mansfield on Veterans Day
Here's what's open and what's closed around Mansfield on Veterans Day, Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Veterans Day (thereβs no apostrophe in it) is observed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014. Hereβs whatβs open and whatβs closed around Mansfield:
Closed Tuesday
- Mansfield Public Schools
- Mansfield Town Hall
- Mansfield Library
- Senior Center
- Animal Shelter: Closed to the public
- U.S. government offices are closed.
- U.S. Post offices are closed.
- Connecticut state offices are closed.
- Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles Offices, including the Willimantic Hub Office, are closed on both Monday (as they regularly are) and Tuesday (but AAA offices, which do some DMV work, will be open as usual in the Hartford area and eastern Connecticut, including the Manchester office β hereβs a list of offices).
- Update: The Mansfield Academy of Dance is closed both on Monday and Tuesday.
Open or continuing as usual on Tuesday
- University of Connecticut-Storrs classes and Homer D. Babbidge Library
- Storrs-Willimantic buses
- Mansfield Community Center
- American Automobile Association offices, including the one in Manchester, which does some DMV work.
- Most stores and other businesses β you can search StoreBusinessHours.com for their directory of holiday closings by store or search individual store websites or call them if youβre unsure.
- Banks in Connecticut have the option of remaining open on state holidays if they announce that fact to their customers. TD Bank branches in the state will remain open, including the branch at the East Brook Mall, 95 Storrs Rd. (TD Bank closes for fewer holidays than nearly any other bank. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas are the last two holidays of the year that the bank will close.)
