White House Honors for UConn Women's Basketball Champs

For the 3rd consecutive year, the team will be honored in a White House ceremony hosted by President Obama.

For the third consecutive year, the UConn Women’s Basketball Team will be honored in a White House ceremony hosted by President Barack Obama.

On Tuesday, Obama will welcome the NCAA Champion UConn Huskies women’s basketball team to honor them for their 2015 NCAA Championship title. It’s the third consecutive year the Lady Huskies have won the title.

It was on April 8 that the women defeated arch rival Notre Dame for the second consecutive year by a score of 63 -53.

Tuesday’s visit will continue the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts to give back to their communities, according to a statement released by the White House.
