Women Charged With Serious Crimes After Shooting and Fight At Mansfield Home

The most serious charge is attempted murder, police said.

MANSFIELD, CT - A Mansfield woman and a pair of women from Willimantic are facing serious criminal charges after a shooting in town on Wednesday, state police documents indicate.

The incident at 137 Spring Hill Road with a fight at about 8 p.m. Wednesday over a man, according to police documents.

Maria Fiasconaro, 27, of Boulder Lane in Mansfield, fought with the eventual victim according to police documents.

Fiasconaro was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, according to police documents.

A friend of Fiasconaro's sister, 46-year-old Michele Martinez, of West Park Street, Willimantic, then pulled out a gun and eventually shot the victim in the head, according to police documents. Police said the victim survived.

Martinez, who lives on West Park Street in Willimantic, was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, the criminal use of a firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace, according to police documents.

Dalia Acosta-Santiago, 34, of West Park Street in Willimantic, Fiasconaro's sister, was charged with first-degree assault and breach of peace, according to police documents.

The Hartford Courant reported that, after court appearances Friday, Santiago posted a $100,000 bond and Martinez was held on a $500,000 bond. The Courant reported the bond for Fiasconaro is $10,000.
