11 Hospitalized After 3-Vehicle Crash In Meriden: Police
The driver of a stolen vehicle was arrested after 11 people were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Meriden, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — Eleven people were hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Meriden, according to police.
One of the involved vehicles was found to have been stolen out of Bridgeport, and the driver was arrested, police said.
The crash happened around 4:15 p.m. at the intersection of Windsor Avenue at West Main Street, according to police.

Police said the three vehicles were found to have been heavily damaged in the crash, and 11 people were injuries.
An investigation found that a 2003 Honda Accord was traveling north on North Third Street, crossing the intersection of West Main Street, and hitting a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt that was traveling west on West Main Street, according to police.

Police said the Accord continued across West Main Street onto Windsor Avenue and crashed head on to a third vehicle, a 2013 Nissan Altima registered out of New York State.
The Nissan Altima had five people injured and taken to area hospitals, the Chevrolet Cobalt had four people injured and hospitalized, and the Honda Accord had two people injured and taken to the hospital, according to police.
During the investigation, police said the Honda Accord was found to be have been stolen out of Bridgeport. The driver was identified as William Herschler, 34, of Meriden. He was charged in connection with the stolen vehicle, and was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, according to police.
The crash is being investigated by Officer Patrick Ouellette and Sgt. Stanley Zajac of the Meriden Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit. Any witnesses, or anyone with video surveillance of the incident, are asked to contact the Meriden Police Department at 203-630-6201.
