2 New Officers Join Meriden Police Department

The two recently graduated from the state's police academy.

MERIDEN, CT — The city's police force recently welcomed new officers Joseph Golden, 26, and Erica LeSage, 22, to its ranks, the Meriden department announced in Facebook posts.

LeSage is a former Waterbury police dispatcher from Wolcott, who will soon earn a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice - Law Enforcement.

Golden, also from Wolcott, earned a bachelor's degree in Criminology with a minor in Psychology upon graduation in 2013 from Central Connecticut State University. At the academy, he also received the Chief Samuel J. Luciano award, from the Connecticut Police Chief's Association, "for having the highest average in his recruit training class."
