Angel Needs an Angel

FROM MERIDEN ANIMAL CONTROL:

This is Angel, she has been back at the Meriden Animal Control since September.

Angel is a special dog and we are sad that she is back through really no fault of her own. She is very loved by MAC and we are hoping to find her a new home soon. She is struggling this time in the kennel...

Angel is still under a year old. When she first arrived at MAC she was just a puppy--3-5 months old. She loved everyone and everything..played in the back pen with multiple dogs and was a total sweet heart.

Angel is GORGEOUS. Her coat shimmers a silvery gold in person, she looks like a movie star. She clearly was the focus of many photos--when she saw the camera..she posed immediately and gave my camera the perfect puppy face:)

Angel was adopted by a couple in MA who MAC kept in touch with - they loved her very much for three months. A few weeks ago, Angel was attached by a Dachshund who was owned by the landlord. The Dachshund came down the stairs, ran down a hallway to where Angel was standing with her mom (outside their front door) and bit Angel in the nose and face.

Big surprise, after being attached Angel bit the dog back..well pit mix vs Dachshund...Dachshund loses. The Dachshund was injured and the landlord made them get rid of Angel. Very unfair and very sad for everyone involved, most of all Angel.

Angel is getting very stressed being back at the pound. She does not understand what has happened and it is clear she is shutdown emotionally on a many levels. Being back has created some rough edges in her that were no there before.

She was tested again with dogs and did okay. She did not like the female dog too much---a dog she had previously played with. We think she is just very nervous and scared. She would need to meet any dogs she was going to live with before going home with them. She was fine with the male dog and is also good with cats.

Her family made no mention of any dog issues until she was attacked.

This dog is such a wonderful loving animal, she needs to get out of the pound and back to a life with a family. She is still a puppy and needs someone to continue her journey into good canine citizen.

Angel is full of potential and needs someone who realizes she has been through a traumatic event being so loved and then dumped again...she will need some time to decompress and then we beleive she will blossom again into the fun loving, silly, smart girl she was when she first arrived.

Angel is a beautiful dog who deserves a family...will you rescue her?
