MERIDEN, CT — Barnes & Noble, the popular bookstore chain, will open a new store next year in Meriden's Townline Square shopping center, CT Insider reported.

The new store will occupy about 9,000 square feet, in a space that previously held a Pier One Imports, which closed in 2020.

Local officials had been working on luring Barnes & Noble to the city for almost a year, and welcomed the news.
