Why You Should Always Take This Call!
You are right in the middle of something at the office and the phone rings. You pick it up and it's that darn recruiter you have been trying to avoid. This is why you should always take this call!

We all know what it is like to be right in the middle of something at the office and the phone rings. You pick it up and BAM!, it’s that darn recruiter you have been trying to avoid. So here you are trying to decide whether to just hang up or politely tell him or her you are not interested before engaging in conversation. Because we all know how “those recruiters” can be!
Let me tell you why you should ALWAYS take calls from (great) recruiters. How do you know if they are great? You will. And fast.
Great recruiters don’t “pitch” you, they talk to you. How could someone possibly know your situation, or the next step in your career, without talking to you?

Here is why you should always take the call. Let’s assume we are talking about a great recruiter. This person has talked to approximately 100 people a day. In your industry. Your competitors. They have more industry intelligence then anyone else in the field! They are consultants. Relationship builders.
I cannot tell you how many of my clients call me regarding salary ranges in the industry, who is hiring, who isn’t, what this firm is doing, where this Executive went, questions on best practices, and the list goes on and on. These recruiters know! Whether you are an executive or have a year of experience, my advice to you, take that call! Establish a relationship with someone in the industry. The benefits will amaze you. And, who knows, they might just find you that ” perfect opportunity” someday.
