Dog in Need of Urgent Adoption in Meriden
The animal's condition is deteriorating and she needs to be in a home.

Nikkie, a pitbull and boxer mix is up for adoption at the Meriden Animal Control.
Nikkie has been at the pound for close to five months now, according to Assistant Animal Control Officer, Sarah Bacon. Bacon said the dog is stressed out and losing weight because she has been at the pound for so long, describing her condition as “deteriorating”.
She is between 2-3-years old and was picked up along the Chamberlain Highway.

Bacon said Nikkie needs a home where she is the only animal. Any children at the home would have to be at least 12-years-old and be dog savvy.
Nikkie has not been spayed or vaccinated.

“The only problem we’ve had is finding a home for her where there aren’t any other animals,” Bacon said. “She is a very friendly animal and we have never had issues with her.”
