Donations Being Accepted After Meriden Fire Displaces Dozens

The weekend fire displaced dozens of people from 22 units.

A large fire in Meriden over the weekend left dozens of residents displaced.

More than 60 people were affected by the fire at crown Village complex, according to NBC Connecticut.

The Saturday fire forced some people to jump from balconies to avoid flames.

The American Red cross opened a shelter in the community cneter at Crown Village where 12 people from three families are currently being housed. The organization has also met with many other residents from the 22 units affected by the fire.

The Meriden Emergency Services Spirit of Giving organization is collecting donations for fire victims.
