Downtown Meriden to Welcome Restaurant Featuring Puerto Rican Cuisine
The restaurant is expected to open within two weeks.

Cono Grill Restaurant, a new restaurant featuring Puerto Rican cuisine is set to open in Meriden within the month, the Record-Journal reports.
Luis Negron, 27, of Stratford told the paper it had always been his dream to open a restaurant. Negron was born in Puerto Rico and moved with his family to Connecticut in 1998.
According to the paper, the restaurant will feature a sit-down bar and seating in a separate room for up to 60 people. Negron’s wife, Tania Negron will be the head chef at the restaurant.

Economic Development Director, Juliet Burdelski told the paper the restaurant was exactly what the town was looking for in Downtown Meriden. Cono will open within two week and will be located at 105 Colony St., the site of the former Cabin Restaurant.
