Driver Seriously Injured In Rollover Crash: Meriden Police

The driver was ejected partially out of the passenger side window, with the car rolling on top of him, according to police.

MERIDEN, CT — A driver was seriously injured in a rollover crash Friday night in Meriden, according to police.

Police received several 911 calls around 7:30 p.m. reporting a rollover crash with injuries in the 100 block of Windsor Avenue.

A 2006 Chrysler 300 was found on its passenger side with one person partially trapped under the vehicle, according to police.

Meriden Fire and Hunter’s Ambulance extricated the person and took him to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries, according to police.

An investigation found that the driver was traveling north on Windsor Avenue when he struck a parked 2006 Jeep Wrangler, which police said caused his vehicle to turn on its passenger side.

Police said the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected partially out of the passenger side window with the car rolling on top of him.

He was listed in stable condition at Hartford Hospital, according to police.

Police said three women were in the Jeep, and all were taken to MidState Medical Center for minor injuries.

The crash is being investigated by Officer Giambrone of the Meriden Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit.
