Driver Seriously Injured In Wrong-Way Crash On I-691

Police say a woman was taken to the hospital via LifeStar after the early Monday morning crash in Meriden.

MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden woman was seriously injured after colliding head-on with a tractor-trailer in a wrong-way crash on I-691 East in Meriden early Monday morning, according to Connecticut State Police.

Police say Meghan Claire Perrin, 34, was taken to MidState Medical Center where she was flown to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar for treatment of her serious injuries.

Perrin was operating a Honda CRV in the wrong direction on I-691 East just before Exit 11 in Meriden at about 3 a.m., according to police.

Police say the CRV was traveling westbound in the left lane of the eastbound lanes at the same location when it veered into the path of a tractor-trailer and caused the head-on collision. No injuries were reported to the occupants of the tractor-trailer.

The crash remains under investigation, according to police.
