The Ben Franklin PTA is organizing our 1st Annual Walk for Wellness at Meriden’s beautiful Linear Trail. Participants should meet at the Linear Trail near the Red Bridge at 9 a.m.
The PTA hopes to inspire healthy habits like staying active and healthy eating with local sponsors promoting wellness. This is a family friendly event for all ages. Students must be accompanied by an adult.
The PTA is still accepting local business sponsors and organizations promoting wellness at the event. We hope to provide each student with a free T-shirt as well as a healthy snack promoting our mission to prevent childhood obesity. We are reaching out to local businesses to fund T-shirts or refreshments. We hope you can join us in supporting this event.
Please contact Tara Frommelt, PTA at 203-676-3736 or Maddy Monti, Department of Social Work at 860-712-3511.
*Rain date is Sunday, May 20th. General Parking is available at the Dossin Beach parking areas adjacent to Hanover Pond. Access to the trail begins at the intersection of Oregon Road and River Road.
