Meriden's Cardona family leads this toned-down version of the Puerto Rican Parranda at John Barry School. Classic Parrandas have Christmas carol troubadors going door-to-door singing, drinking and feasting until the wee hours -- the Cardonas will squeeze all that celebration into the hours between 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Friday night. Refreshments will be served, and the event is free.
