Ex-Fiance Charged In Meriden Woman's 2019 Murder
Police announced they have charged Jason Darnell Watson with murder in the Perrie Mason case.

MERIDEN, CT — Police said they will charge Jason Darnell Watson for murder in connection with the death of Perrie Mason. Mason, 31, went missing Aug. 18, 2019, and her body was later discovered at a location in Waterbury, according to a police Facebook post.
"A lengthy investigation ensued by Det. Femia of the Meriden Police Major Crimes Division and a warrant to formally charge Mr. Watson with murder was granted," police said.
Watson will be arraigned this morning at New Haven Superior Court.

The Meriden Police Department worked with the Connecticut State Police, Waterbury Police, New Haven FBI Office, the Department of Children and Families, and the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office on the case.
Watson, 39, was Mason's ex-fiance. He has been imprisoned for strangulation, assault, and unlawful restraint connected to an incident that occurred days before Mason disappeared, according to WTNH.

Police believe Watson assaulted Mason two days after the couple broke up, when Watson is accused of choking Mason until she blacked out.
The two had been communicating about the separation on Aug. 18. Then that night, Mason made two calls to 911, according to WTNH. Watson called police the next day to report that Mason was missing.
