Fights at Meriden's Platt High School Lead to Lockdown, 5 Arrests: Cops
Two fights were reported.

MERIDEN, CT - More than a dozen law enforcement officers and school security staff had to be called to Platt High School late Monday morning to quell a pair of fights that led to the arrests of five juvenile students, according to Meriden police.
Some students suffered "bumps and bruises," interim school principal David Levenduski told the Record-Journal, but no serious injuries were reported. Due to their ages, the identities of the arrested students were not disclosed.
The school was temporarily locked down, but was reopened for classes in the afternoon.

In a statement to parents, Levenduski said, “During the course of lunch, we unfortunately had two separate physical altercations occur. Although there were no major injuries, due to the large number of students in the cafe and to ensure the safety of all students, we decided to lock down the school and call for police assistance. The police arrived quickly and helped support our staff to ensure no further disruptions occurred.”
