Fire Extinguished at Three-Family Home in Meriden

The incident occurred early Tuesday morning and no one was injured in the fire.

A fire at a three-family Meriden home early Tuesday morning was successfully contained, the Record-Journal reports.

The fire broke out at 12:30 a.m. at 13 Webster Street.

A man living on the third floor was alerted by the smoke detector in his apartment to the fire that started in his bathroom ceiling fan, the paper reports. The man made sure everyone else living in the home got out safely.

Firefighters contained the fire and there was only minor damage done to the third-floor bathroom.

According to the paper, the fire marshal is investigating the incident.
