Update: I-691 East Reopened After Flipped Vehicle In Meriden
The 1:40 p.m. accident was the second one on that interstate in less than an hour Monday in Meriden.

MERIDEN, CT — Less than an hour after a crash snarled traffic on the westbound side of Interstate 691 Monday afternoon, another crash on the eastbound side caused problems.
But after the highway was shutdown for a bit in the area of Exit 7, Connecticut State Police via Twitter reported the road has reopened as of about 2:55 p.m. Monday.
According to the state Department of Transportation, a vehicle had overturned on I-691 eastbound between exits 4 and 5.

DOT officials reported the accident happening at 1:40 p.m., with no estimate as to when it will be cleared. It was ultimately cleared just before 3 p.m. Monday.
At 1:01 p.m., a crash involving a vehicle and a trailer caused traffic backups on the westbound side of I-691. That crash has, since, been cleared.
