Gas Leak Reported In Downtown Meriden

A gas leak temporarily closed downtown streets Thursday afternoon.

MERIDEN, CT - Emergency and utility crews were dealing with a gas leak in downtown Meriden Thursday afternoon, according to the Record-Journal. The streets were reopened to traffic at 1:40 p.m.

A gas pipe had ruptured in a residence, resulting in the evacuation of a nearby convenience store. Traffic was shut down on Randolph Avenue, as well as sections of West Main Street and Cook Avenue.
