Hit-and-Run Driver Caught Who Police Say Critically Injured Meriden Man: Report
The incident occurred Tuesday night on Lewis Avenue.

MERIDEN, CT — A 25-year-old Meriden man, who police say hit and critically injured a pedestrian with his car and then fled the scene, has been apprehended.
Police arrested Tony Perez-Silva, of Garden Street on charges of driving under the influence, evading responsibility, second-degree assault with a motor vehicle and related infractions, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.
Perez-Silva is accused of hitting 60-year-old Meriden resident Stephen Mahoney on Lewis Avenue at about 10:22 p.m. Tuesday, and then driving off. Mahoney, who suffered head and other injuries, was listed in critical condition at Hartford Hospital, according to the publication.

Police found Perez-Silva a short while later hiding in a crawl space at his home.
