Identity Theft Suspect Sought In Meriden: Police
Police are asking for assistance with identifying the suspect.

MERIDEN, CT — Meriden Police are asking for the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect accused of identity theft. Police say the jogger (pictured) is suspected of opening credit cards in the name of victims where he is familiar with their home addresses.
Once the applications are submitted, the suspect intercepts the victim's mail from related credit agencies in order to keep the victim unaware of his activity, according to police.
“While we are interested in identifying this man, it is important to note that identity theft is not an uncommon crime,” Sgt. Christopher Fry said in a press release. “Citizens are encouraged to take proactive measures in protecting themselves from being victimized such as protecting your sensitive information and regularly checking their credit report.”
