Man Arrested in NY on Charges of 2010 Sexual Assault on Meriden 12-Year-Old

A former city resident wanted by Meriden police on charges from 2010 that he sexually assaulted a young girl was found in New York and extradited to Meriden this week.

Walter Frazier Jr., 33, was arrested by Meriden Police at noon Tuesday, according to police logs, and charged with first degree sexual assault and impairing the morals of a child, along with a separate probation violation from 2009. 

Frazier has had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for nearly two years after being accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old Meriden girl on two occasions in 2010, according to Police Spokesman Det. Lt. Mark Walerysiak.

Frazier, who formerly resided at 80 E. Main Street, Apt. 3, was a friend of the girl's family, Walerysiak said. He is currently listed by police as homeless in New York.

Frazier had a court date of today, Wednesday, Feb. 29, and was held on $250,000 bond on the 2010 charge, and $25,000 bond on the 2009 charge.
